I have always been a fan of fresh green beans. I just figured it was one of those vegetables that most people liked. I was a little shocked when my husband told me that he really didn’t like fresh green beans very much.
What I Love Wednesday
I love finding multiple uses for things. I love it when I can tweak my everyday decor and turn it into holiday decor.
So today, I wanted to share with you another use I found for the Chocolate Pots of Gold that I shared with you back in March.
Instead of a pots of gold, for Halloween you can make witches cauldrons. I loaded my cauldron with a bunch of cute Halloween candy that I bought at Winco. Winco had chocolate fingers, ears, toes, and eyeballs. I also bought some gummy worms, spiders, and of course candy corns.
Creamy Chicken Tortilla Soup
Who doesn’t love a hot soup on a cold night? This soup is a recipe I got from my friend Kirsten. Every time I make it, people ask for the recipe.
This recipe makes enough to have leftovers the next day, freeze the excess for later, or share with friends.
Spaghetti Squash Stir Fry with Lemon Pineapple Sweet and Sour Sauce
This recipe is going to knock your socks off! Not only is it gluten-free and a healthy alternative to regular stir fry, but it is packed with flavor!
The Lemon Pineapple Sweet and Sour Sauce might be a mouthful to say, but once this sauce meets your taste buds, they will be doing the happy dance!
With love from my kitchen to yours,
Carrie
What I Love Wednesday
Okay, you are probably getting sick of me talking about my kitchen table makeover, so I promise this is the last time I will bring it up. I just wanted to show you the benches my husband and I made.
My awesome little brother cut the wood out for me because we don’t have a miter saw. After doing this project, I am thinking that I need to get my own miter saw! My amazing husband put the benches together for me and I sanded and painted them.
Easy Caramel Apple Cobbler
Oh man, Fall would not be the same without Apple Cobbler. I came up with this recipe for a birthday lunch for my mom. She loves her Apple Cobbler hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream dripping down the sides.
Crock Pot Smashed Red Potatoes
There is something about mashed potatoes that is comforting. Every time I have a serving, my thoughts go back to my childhood memories of my family gathered around the kitchen table eating dinner. For some reason, mashed potatoes feel like home.
I hope that when my kids are older and raising their own families, they will think back to their time growing up and have fond memories of our meals around the table as well.
Pumpkin Brownies
I thought you might want to start the fall season off right with some moist mouth watering Pumpkin Brownies. I know there are a lot or pumpkin recipes out there. But this recipe for Pumpkin Brownies is one that you don’t want to miss out on.
Pressure Cooker Dulce De Leche
If you have never had homemade Dulce De Leche, you are seriously missing out! It is 100 times better than the store bought versions. My mom is from Argentina, so I grew up eating this heavenly caramel. When I was little, there weren’t any stores around my home that carried Dulce De Leche. So my mom made her own. We loved eating it on toast, dipping our apples in it, and I might have even ate it by the spoonfuls from time to time.
Creamy Chicken Gravy and Biscuits
This recipe is a delicious twist on the classic biscuits and gravy. I love a good chicken pot pie but wanted a quicker version. The homemade biscuits in this recipe are amazing. If you haven’t already tried the easy homemade biscuits recipe I shared a few weeks ago, you are in for a real treat! They are very simple to make and are out of this world!
The creamy chicken gravy tastes like chicken pot pie. After tasting this dish, you will want to get your southern drawl on! Don’t just take my world for it, give this mouthwatering dish a try.
With love from my kitchen to yours,
Carrie
