Creamy Crock Pot White Bean Chili

October 15, 2015 by myrecipeconfessions

Creamy Crock Pot White Bean Chili is one of my favorite crockpot recipes! I love trying new recipes and this one did not disappoint! It was quick and easy and my family absolutely loved it. If you want an easy dinner idea, this is it!

I always get in the mood for chili this time of year.  This week I was taking dinner to my parents and I knew that they really like chili. I wanted to make them something different than the traditional chili. We love White Chicken Chili, but my mom doesn’t like chicken so I decided to switch the recipe up a bit. I love the results! My mom absolutely loved it too. Luckily we had left overs because it is just as good if not better the next day.

The Best Gourmet Chocolate Chip Cookies

October 12, 2015 by myrecipeconfessions

The Best Gourmet Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft and chewy with the perfect amount of rich chocolate chips. I have tried many recipes and this one is not only the best, it is also the easiest!

I can’t say enough about these cookies! They are soft, chewy, and taste like the expensive chocolate chip cookies you buy at the bakery. Now you can make them at home for so much less. I am kinda picky about my chocolate chip cookies. I don’t like them dry or crumbly. I want the to have a chewy texture and a full flavor that is not too rich. I know that seems like a tall order but like I said before I am picky.

Crock Pot Tomato Tortellini Soup is one of the best crockpot recipes! The flavor is out of this world and it is so easy to make. Who doesn’t love and easy dinner? This soup is one of the best recipes for soup you will find!

I love soup season! I can remember as a kid coming inside after playing outside all day in the cold weather. No matter how much I bundled up, I always seemed to have a cold red nose and numb hands and feet. However, as soon as I smelled soup on the stove, I knew I was in for a real treat.

Pizza Stuffed Snake

October 1, 2015 by myrecipeconfessions

Pizza Stuffed Snake- This easy to follow recipe and tutorial is my boys favorite! You can customize it with your favorite pizza toppings. My kids love to help paint the snake. You will be shocked how simple the food coloring paint is to make. This snake is a great main dish to serve at a Halloween party, birthday party, or Harry Potter party. Serve it with a side of blood a.k.a marinara sauce for a huge party hit!

If I want to hear my kids shout for joy at dinner time, I only have to say two words: Pizza Snake!  They love everything about making and eating this pizza snake. Their favorite part aside from eating it is to paint the snake. I give each kid a paint brush and a small bowl with the food color of their choice and they go to town creating their “new snake species” as my son would say.

How to Make Your Own Pumpkin Pie Spice

September 14, 2015 by myrecipeconfessions

Don’t settle for the store bought pumpkin pie spice mix when you can make your own. The flavor will be so much more vibrant in your recipes. It costs less to make and you can customize it to your likings. Think of all those pumpkin recipes that you can take to the next level with your own pumpkin pie spice mix.

I just discovered that I prefer to make my own pumpkin pie spice. I haven’t loved the store blends that I have bought at the store so I decided to venture out and make my own. I think that this Pumpkin Pie Spice blend is a lot more vibrant than the store version. I can tell a big difference in all of my recipes. When using this blend, you don’t need to adjust the measurements of recipes. Simply use the same amount as the recipe calls for.

The benefits of making your own pumpkin pie spice are:

  1. You can make smaller batches. Over time spices can go stale so making a smaller batch is better so that you can use it up before it looses its flavor.
  2. You can customize the blend to your liking. If you like more cinnamon in you blend or if you don’t like the ginger, then switch it up. You have total control over what goes into you blend.
  3.  You will save money by making your own blend rather than buying a big jar of the store-bought blend if you already have all of the spices.

Of course, if you don’t want to make your own and prefer to use the store-bought blend, that is totally fine too. That is one of the many benefits of cooking from scratch, you can customize your food to your liking.

Stay tuned for some amazing pumpkin recipes that I used this Pumpkin Pie Spice blend in.

With love from my kitchen to yours,

Carrie
