Easy Chocolate Easter Bunnies are a fun and easy treat to make with the kids for Easter. Instead of coloring Easter eggs this year, give these adorable bunnies a try. Not only are they super cute and fun to make, they are delicious too!
Every year we decorate Easter eggs. We let each kid decorate four or five eggs. After they decorate their allotted amount, they always beg to make more. The problem with letting them do more is that they will only eat so many boiled eggs before they get sick of them. The rest of the eggs just sit in the fridge looking pretty. Then every time I open the fridge, that horrible boiled egg smell comes rolling out.
This year after my kids decorate their 4 to 5 Easter eggs, we are going to make these Easy Chocolate Easter Bunnies. I love finding ways for my kids to use their imagination. Not only are they fun to make, but the flavor beats boiled eggs any day!

Easy Chocolate Easter Bunnies
Makes 6 Easter bunnies
6 Lindor milk chocolate truffle balls
6 Cadbury milk chocolate eggs with soft chocolate crème center
6 soft tootsie roll midgies (make sure they are soft)
1 cup chocolate coating discs
12 Milk Duds (5 oz. box should be plenty)
6 Whoppers (5 oz. box should be plenty)
1 pkg. Extra Watermelon Gum ( you can use different colors of gum for the bow tie)
1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds. Take the bowl out and stir the chocolate. Place the bowl back in the microwave and repeat this process until the chocolate is completely melted. This will be used as the glue that holds all the pieces in place.
Bunny body and head:
1. Cut a small slice off of the top and bottom of the Cadbury egg so it is level.
2. Place a small dab of melted chocolate on a piece of wax paper and place the bottom of the egg on it.
3. Trim the tips off of two milk duds and place a small dab of chocolate on the cut end and on the bottom of each milk dud. Then stick them on the bottom of the egg for the feet.
4. With a butter knife, place a small dab of chocolate on the top of the egg. Unwrap the Lindor truffle and place it on the top of the egg on the melted chocolate.
3. Cut a small slice off of a Whopper so it is level. Place a small dab of chocolate on the sliced side of the Whopper. Place the Whopper on the back side of the egg for the tail.
1. Unwrap a tootsie roll and cut it down the middle. Slightly roll the tootsie roll out with a rolling pin so it is smooth. With kitchen shears or a sharp paring knife, cut the tootsie roll so the ends taper in a bit and the top is rounded. With your fingers smooth out any rough edges. You want them to be about 3/4″ to 1 ” long.
2. For the inside of the ear unwrap the gum and cut two 1/8″ x 3/4 strips”.
3. Smear a small dot of melted chocolate on the back of the gum strip. Place it on the tootsies roll ear.
4. Place a small dab of melted chocolate on the bottom of each ear. Place them on the top of the head and hold them in place for a few seconds until the chocolate dries.
1. Cut a slice of gum into 1/2 inch pieces.
2. Next with a sharp paring knife or kitchen shears, cut a small triangle in the bottom half of the gum.
3. Then cut another triangle in the top half of the gum forming a bow tie.
4. Place a small dab of melted chocolate on the back side of the bow tie. Place it right under the head. Hold it in place for just a few seconds until the chocolate dries.
