Last weekend, my husband and I were busy building benches for our kitchen table (I will share all the details later this week). The kids kept asking what was for dinner. I had been so busy with the benches that I completely forgot that we needed to eat dinner.
Instead of running to the nearest fast food joint, I whipped up this taco meat. I had the tacos on the table in less than a 30 minutes.
Tacos are a something that everybody at our house will eat. Some of my pickiest eaters will even have seconds. So as you can guess, everybody left the dinner table happy that night.
With love from my kitchen to yours,
Carrie
Irresistible Taco Meat
Makes about 6 to 8 servings
1 lb. of lean ground beef
1 pkg, taco seasoning
1 (15 oz.) can of fat free refried beans with green chilies and lime
1 (6 oz.) can of tomato sauce
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium high heat, saute the ground beef until it is completely cooked. Once the ground beef is cooked, pour the meat into a strainer and rinse with cold water to remove any excess grease.
2. Return the meat to the skillet and add the taco seasoning. Then cook per the taco seasoning package instructions. Turn down the heat to medium-low and add the refried beans and tomato sauce. Stirring occasionally, leave on heat until the everything is heated all the way through.
3. Serve over a flour tortilla or taco shell with your favorite taco toppings. Enjoy!
