What I Love Wednesday

October 1, 2014 by myrecipeconfessions

Okay, you are probably getting sick of me talking about my kitchen table makeover, so I promise this is the last time I will bring it up. I just wanted to show you the benches my husband and I made.

My awesome little brother cut the wood out for me because we don’t have a miter saw. After doing this project, I am thinking that I need to get my own miter saw! My amazing husband put the benches together for me and I sanded and painted them.

Easy DIY Benches

I found the tutorial on Magenta and Lime. We followed her instructions except we made the benches a little smaller. Instead of a 48 inch bench, we made a 40 inch bench because it fits under our table better.

I also used Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint to paint the benches so that they matched the two end chairs.

The first bench took my husband about 1 hour to put it together, but once he got the swing of it the second bench only took 30 minutes. In fact they were so simple to put together, he made two more for my little sister’s kitchen table.

The tutorial says that the benches can be made for $15 each, but we ended up paying around $20 each. I love them and seriously $20 a bench is a steal!

You can find the full tutorial on Magenta And Lime. If you are in the market for a bench, I seriously recommend you check this tutorial out.

With love from my kitchen to yours,

Carrie
