If you think that my Paint Stick Flag is easy to make, you will love this one. It took half the time to make and was cheaper too. I think that the paint stick flag looks so cute displayed next to this 1776 canvas art.
I like to buy the canvas at Walmart. They sell a pack of three for $4.97. That makes each one about $1.67. I already had the paint from the last project so this project cost me under $2.00. Really, come on you can’t get any better than that!
Until next time,
Carrie
1776 Canvas Art
Supplies
11 x 14 canvas
red acrylic paint
white acrylic paint
navy blue acrylic paint
foam brush
small detail brush
180 grit sand paper
damp rag
10 inch star template
6 inch 1776 template
Instructions
1. Paint 3 to 4 coats of navy blue acrylic paint onto a 11 x 14 canvas. Let the paint dry completely between each coat.
2. Sand the canvas with sand paper to give it the distressed look. Once you are satisfied with the distressed look, clean the canvas by wiping it down with a damp rag. Trace the 10 inch star onto the canvas. Paint the star with 2 to 3 coats of white paint, letting the paint dry between each coat.
3. Sand the star to distress with sandpaper and clean the canvas by wiping it down with a damp rag. Center the 1776 over the star and trace. Paint the 1776 with 2 to 3 coats of red paint, letting the paint dry between coats. Lightly sand the 1776, wipe down with the damp rag.
Doesn’t it look so cute?
